Over Wallop War Memorial, Over Wallop, Hampshire
Radley House Partnership are delighted to have been involved with the repair and conservation of the Over Wallop War Memorial.
The four pillars of this unusual memorial have been replaced with new Chicksgrove stone from the original quarry. The names of those who returned from WWI have been hand carved exactly as they were over 100 years ago. Once again Over Wallop can pay tribute and the new pillars fulfil the original aim of standing guard over the Fallen.
The work was carried out by Wells Cathedral Stonemasons Ltd, overseen by the architects, Radley House Partnership Ltd.
One hundred and one years later, the village gathered again on Saturday 17 October to rededicate the newly refurbished War Memorial.
Goodbye 2020 - Hello 2021!
Following a disruptive and eventful 2020, we find ourselves at the start of 2021 little changed from March/April. Most of our staff are set up to work from home and contactable by email or mobile, while our office is staffed part time by a skeleton crew of those unable to work from home.
Thankfully, we have adapted to our new routines and despite the shutdown of many sites during the first lockdown and continued disruption throughout the year we have remained busy and productive, with no sign of a slowdown in the months ahead.
The latest national lockdown and fast-spreading new variant of Covid-19 means that we have advised our staff to avoid unnecessary site visits and travel where possible, although routine site inspections and meetings are continuing provided, they are Covid Secure and latest ‘hands, face and space’ rules are followed. Face-to-face meetings will be conducted virtually through MS Teams or similar until the situation improves and guidance changes.
Radley House - COVID-19 Update
Due to the recent government guidance banning all but essential travel we are pleased to say that the team at Radley House are now set-up to work from home, so please bear with us as we get used to our new daily routines. Team members can be contacted by email as usual.
For the time being our practice policy extends to any non-essential site visiting, and in respect of our duty to our staff and others in the wider community.
Take care and stay safe!
