Marwell Zoological Park

Location: Marwell, nr. Winchester

Completion Date: n/a

Contract Value: Undisclosed

Project Description:

Various buildings and structures carried out by Radley House at Marwell Zoo over the last decade.

Works:

The practice has been involved in over 30 projects at Marwell Wildlife, ranging from animal houses and enclosures to offices and educational facilities. New buildings include the Education Centre, the Visitors Centre/Shop and the Giraffe House as well as smaller projects associated with Marwell Hall which is a Grade 1 listed building. Animal enclosures with associated public viewing have been designed for the Snow Leopards, Tigers, Cheetahs, Primates and Giraffes. Every project aims to produce designs which sit well in the parkland setting through scale and choice of materials whilst at the same time providing dramatic and interesting visitor attractions. The animal houses and enclosures in particular always require unique design solutions in order to cater for the specific behaviour and needs of each species within imaginative structures.
