Conservation

As practitioners in the field of conservation we are passionately committed to conserving the historic environment, both the structures and their surroundings.  We have considerable specialist expertise working with or within the following areas:

Listed Buildings

Scheduled Ancient Monuments

Conservation Areas

Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)

'Buildings at Risk'

Our creative input is frequently required either in solving difficult conservation and /or structural problems, or devising modern interventions with historic buildings in the most appropriate and sensitive way.  The rigid imposition of modern insulation values, fire separation or access, can put the special character of historic buildings at risk.  Often a more flexible approach can produce a mutually acceptable compromise and thereby maximise the potential for listed buildings and scheduled ancient monuments.
